Stronger EU cooperation against vaccine-preventable diseases

Vaccination is one of the greatest successes of public health and saves between 1 and 3 million lives worldwide every year. Yet children are still dying in the EU from diseases that can easily be prevented with vaccines. The European Commission call to join forces to increase vaccination coverage and to ensure that everyone in the EU has access to vaccination. The main ideas are in a proposal for the Council Recommendation, adopted by the Commission on 26 April 2018.
