30 miljoner människor lider av sällsynta diagnoser och tillstånd inom EU. Men de enskilda länderna har inte alltid den expertis och kapacitet som krävs för att behandla dessa patienter. 2017 hjälpte EU:s expertnätverk (med medicinsk expertis från sammanlagt 28 institutioner och 13 länder) en läkare i Finland att sätta in rätt behandling för en pojke med en sällsynt form av epilepsi.
